Day 18/19: Rathambore National Park

I’m quite pleased I decided to start my trip in India with a visit to a national park, it’s been a highlight so far. It’s one of the easiest places to see tigers in the wild, although the chances of seeing one is much more likely in the dry season (May, ie right now).

Day 17: Off to India…

The majority opinion of my friends and relatives is that I’m crazy to go to India, and the reality is that the vast majority of the criticisms of the country are spot on. More on that later, my flight to India was at 8:30AM so it ended up being easiest to stay out at the airport vs trying to fight traffic to get to the airport from central Bangkok early in the morning.

Day 16: Bangkok

Some tours you love so much you can do them over and over, and that’s certainly the case with the Bangkok food tour. Street food in Asia can be a bit risky, as it’s not always prepared hygienically. As a tourist it can be tough to separate the places that are actually safe to eat at, vs the places that could give you days worth of quality time in the bathroom.

Day 15: Tokyo-Bangkok in an A380!

My flight for Bangkok didn’t leave until 17:30, so I had some time to explore Tokyo before heading for the airport. My first stop was the Tsukiji Fish market, it has some of the best sushi in the world. The fish are caught, auctioned off and served up in sushi and sashimi within hours. It be hard to get fresher fish than that.
